Embryos are frozen during IVF with PGD/PGS and can be stored for future family building.
Embryo freezing (embryo cryopreservation) involves first undergoing the IVF procedure. After egg retrieval, eggs can be inseminated with either the patient’s partner or with donor sperm. These embryos may be subsequently frozen for an indeterminate amount of time. Studies have shown that pregnancy rates after embryo freezing are comparable to those with fresh IVF cycles.
