At Northern California Fertility Medical Center, we provide the most advanced treatments with a superior level of care. However, there is often much more to overcoming fertility problems than the medical aspect of treatment. Having trouble becoming pregnant can be the source of frustration, confusion, fear, anger, and a host of other complex emotions. That is why we strongly recommend that our patients participate in some type of infertility support program while undergoing treatment at our clinic serving Roseville , Sacramento, and surrounding areas. There are local and nationwide organizations that offer men and women a chance to listen to the stories of others, share their own experiences, and recognize that they are not alone.
We offer monthly seminars for prospective patients. These seminars cover general infertility issues and give potential patients an opportunity to see our facility and meet with one of our physicians. Dealing with infertility problems and the roller coaster of emotions that can come with treatment is something no one should have to do alone. Unfortunately, many people find that turning to friends or family is unhelpful, even painful, because without firsthand experience, friends and family members just can’t understand what the infertile couple is going through.
The infertility specialists and medical staff at a fertility clinic are experienced and knowledgeable about the subject and can provide a certain amount of support, but are not always there to listen when the patient needs to vent. Their position as professional, medical practitioners prevents them from being able to provide extensive personal advice or attention.
That is why meeting with an infertility support organization is recommended to patients at our Roseville center, near Sacramento. This option can make such a big difference in a couple’s treatment experience. These groups are made up of people who have gone through, or are currently going through, the very same struggles as our patients. Sharing stories, perspectives, advice, and sympathy with others in the same situation helps patients to realize that they are not alone. It provides a network of people to turn to when frustration, rage, or even elation needs to be expressed.

ONNA is a mailing list for women who are trying to get pregnant. Some have been trying for years, others for months. The list is a great source of information on methods of conceiving ranging from herbalism to the ultra-high-tech. More than that, though, the group is an amazingly warm infertility support network. To be unsuccessful at getting pregnant for any length of time can result in a roller coaster of emotions. ONNA brings women (and sometimes their partners, too) together to share their fears, hopes, rages, and joys.
