NCFMC Statement Regarding IVF and Embryo Management Policy Impacts

We understand that some of our patients have questions or concerns about how recent election outcomes might impact policies surrounding in vitro fertilization (IVF), embryo creation, and embryo disposition in California.

While no changes have currently been enacted that impact IVF and embryo storage or disposition in California, we recognize that future shifts in national policy or changes in healthcare legislation could impact reproductive freedom. Fortunately, California has its own set of robust regulations and protections regarding reproductive healthcare and the courts appear to leave these important decisions up to individual states.

Our clinic remains committed to supporting our patient’s rights to make personal healthcare choices and access the care they need. We will continue to monitor any policy updates closely, working with legal and medical experts to interpret how any changes might affect our services or your options.

Please reach out to our team if you have specific questions or if you’d like more information on how we approach the preservation, creation, or disposition of embryos in our practice.
