Assisted reproductive technologies (ART)range in their scope of processes as well as their cost. For people who do not produce sperm naturally or people who have reproductive challenges, at-home insemination is one of the options they can use to become pregnant. Not only is at-home insemination simple to do, it is also inexpensive compared to other ART therapies. This method of family building relies on a woman’s natural ovulation window in order to work, therefore timing is very crucial to its success. To help you increase your chances of success, we shall be sharing some useful tips in this article.
Fibroids are a type of non-cancerous growth that are often discovered in a person’s uterus during a pelvic exam. Structurally, they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but they are generally harmless. In fact they usually do not present any symptoms and a person could have fibroids and not know it. The ovaries produce tiny fluid-filled sacs called antral follicles within which eggs develop. The exact number of follicles that a female produces in a menstrual cycle is not known. What is known is that this number is different with each person, and gradually decreases as they age. Knowing the average number of follicles a person produces naturally is crucial to certain phases of fertility treatments.
When someone takes a home pregnancy test and it returns positive, the next step is typically to see a healthcare provider to confirm the pregnancy on an ultrasound. This article will be giving insight into what chemical pregnancies are, what causes them, symptoms, side effects, and what one can do about it.
Fertility evaluations help professional medical practitioners to know a person’s fertility status and identify the causes of infertility if any. Fertility evaluations are available for both men and women, but they are not only limited to those who are actively trying to build their families, fertility evaluations can be done voluntarily for people seeking to build their families in the future, or donate their sperm or eggs toward fertility treatments. So let us look at what it means to have a fertility evaluation, what aspects are evaluated, how to prepare to be evaluated, and what a person’s results could mean.

We’re thrilled to see expanded insurance coverage for fertility treatments in California with the passage of Senate Bill 729. This groundbreaking legislation ensures broader insurance coverage for fertility services including IVF, strengthens protections for fertility care for the LGBTQ+ community, and expands overall access to reproductive healthcare. If there are no further delays, services will start to be covered on January 1, 2026 for plans that amend or renew on this date, or upon renewal thereafter, which means that the benefits would become effective between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026. State employees who are covered under Cal-PERS will gain coverage effective January 1, 2027.
